Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

Brazilian jiu jitsu is a grappling-based martial art whose central theme is the skill of controlling a resisting opponent in ways that force him or her to submit. Due to the fact that control is generally easier on the ground than in a standing position, much of the technique of Brazilian jiu jitsu is centered around the skill of taking an opponent down to the ground and maneuvering for dominant control positions from where the opponent can be rendered harmless or submitted.

Fundamentals

If you are new to Brazilian Jiu-jitsu or looking to sharpen your fundamentals, then this program is a perfect start for you. We have a 36 technique Fundamental program which is designed to take the novice through the major positions, attacks and defences in BJJ with a focus on Self Defence.

You will learn both techniques from standing and on the ground. This is program continuously cycles through the techniques so that you can join us at anytime.

Classes are structured and supervised to maximize your learning experience, safety and enjoyment.

Focus is put on positional sparring and reflex development to improve your muscle memory of each technique.

Advanced

Once you have a solid understanding of the fundamentals, you can graduate to the advance class to further improve your BJJ skills. In this program you will build on your fundamental techniques by learning new variations and strategies for both attacks and defense.

This class is focused on a combination of technical drilling, positional sparring and sparring.

Teen Jiu Jitsu

Our Teen Jiu Jitsu program focuses on building off of the fundamentals of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and focuses on the sport aspect of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

This class is perfect for kids and teens that are ages 8-13.

The class is structure is:

  • 10 Minute Warm-up
  • 30 min Technique/Drilling
  • 10 Min Positional Sparring
  • 10 Min Rolling

Kids Jiu Jitsu

More than just Jiu Jitsu and Martial arts for kids!  We focus on teaching kids how to be confident, to verbally and physically defend themselves and through fun games that keep them engaged.

We teach kids the fundamental core basics of non-violent effective self-defence starting with:

  • Awareness
  • Using your voice and setting boundaries
  • When to defend yourself verbally or physically

This program is perfect for ages 5-7 and can be started at any time throughout the curriculum.

 

Private Lessons

Take your training to the next level with one-on-one personal instruction.

Private lessons can be used to focus on a specific aspects or techniques, additional mat time and focus on what matters to you.

A Private lessons is $50/hour and can be organized around your schedule.
